Assessment & Treatment of Women’s ADHD During COVID: Connecting Women with their Communities, Self-Efficacy and Goals

About the Program

ADHD poses unique challenges for the practicing psychologist who must first disentangle ADHD’s symptom profile from the COVID-19 pandemic’s broader psychosocial impact on attention, focus, and general cognitive functioning. And diagnosing and treating ADHD in women further confounds this process as ADHD presents differently in women, and in ways that may be masked by the pandemic’s general effect. Join us for this intermediate lecture on this important topic.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify two ways in which COVID-19 specifically impacted womxn who struggle with ADHD.
  2. Articulate 3 symptoms of ADHD and 3 signs of ADHD specific to womxn.
  3. Identify specific trauma-informed techniques to use in practice around assessment procedures for women with ADHD.
  4. Describe the focus of each of the four sessions of a brief modality mindfulness treatment for womxn who struggle with ADHD.
